1. Dont Kill Your Only Chance At Immortality
The whole film centers on a plot about Grandad Yashida trying to fight off death and take Wolverine's healing abilities. He is not ready to die, and Wolverines powers will give him the immortality he craves so badly wants. But the problem he's experiencing is that Wolverine is not prepared to part with it. So with Viper/Dr. Greens help, Yashida implants a mechanical spider in Wolverine that attaches itself to his heart and suppresses his healing ability. Wolverine has no idea why he isnt healing anymore and he only finds out later, after the numerous near death experiences, what the hell is going on. He then goes after Dr. Green for violating him and to save Mariko. Once there, he finds out that Grandad Yashida is not dead and everything that has happened has been his evil plan to forcibly take Wolverines healing ability. So that begs the question: if Wolverine is his only chance at not dying, why would he jeopardise that chance by removing Wolverines healing ability? Surely Grandad Yashida needs him alive, so why risk him being killed? It makes no sense.
