Wonder Woman: 10 Major DCEU Problems It Fixed

6. It Picks A Plot And Goes With It

A problem that was absolutely detrimental to Batman v Superman and one of the reasons it can be considered one of the most disappointing films in recent memory is that the movie simply could not decide what it wanted to be about.

It started off as Superman vs. the government, became Batman vs. Superman later (and for all but a fleeting moment), before it finally became Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday, in addition to practically becoming Justice League Lite at one point. Plus, there was the convoluted Lex Luthor subplot that raised all sorts of questions that it failed to answer. And while neither film had nearly as much of an identity crisis as that one, Man of Steel and Suicide Squad suffered from some sharp turns away from the main focus as well.

Meanwhile, the screenwriters for Wonder Woman took a much more focused approach. The film establishes the story it wants to tell from the off and never deviates. It is everything an overarching story should be. In addition to sticking to its guns in the plot department, the film never goes off on any sort of over-expository tangent. There are subplots yes, but they take nothing away from the main plot and, in fact, help build it by contributing to the ideas it establishes.
