Wonder Woman: 10 Villains Who Should Appear In The Movie

6. Maxwell Lord

The Villain: When he first came on the scene, Lord was little more than an amoral businessman helping out the Justice League, although over time, he would display limited mind control abilities and briefly even became a cyborg merged with an alien computer program.

After fading away for a while, Lord re-emerged as a criminal mastermind. For years, he'd been gathering information on superheroes and was now implementing a plant to destroy them all, believing they were a danger to humanity.

Why He Should Be In The Film: Maxwell Lord is a unique type of bureaucratic threat to Wonder Woman. He doesn€™t resist her femininity or fight her status as a Greek heroine, but, rather, resents her position as a superhero. His in-print anger towards them as a group could easily be directed towards Wonder Woman specifically, with his will representing the frightened voices of the masses.

Lord has served in such a capacity before, wherein he opposed Wonder Woman in Sacrifice, one of her most memorable exploits in recent years. In this story, he took control Superman and, seeing no other way to stop him, Diana killed Lord on live TV. The specifics of the arc would need to be changed, but there€™s clearly potential for a strong narrative with him at the centre.
