2. Wonder Woman Is Ares' Sister, And Then She Kills Him

When the film was on Themysicra, there were a few whispers about Diana's true nature, although she herself knew nothing about it.

Once we leave that place behind it's largely forgotten about, since no one else would possess that knowledge, which sets it up for the big reveal from Ares: Diana is the daughter of Zeus, and his half-sister.

It's a big moment, because it elevates the character from being a superhero to being a God (or at least a half-God). And then, after that reveal, we see again how powerful Diana is. After Steve's death, she simply absorbs Ares lightning and directs it back at him, killing him with his own weapon.
