Although the film really does belong to Gadot's Wonder Woman, one of its other major strengths is Chris Pine's Steve Trevor, who offers up endless charm, humour, and relatability with his twist on the love-interest trope.

It's often the case that heroic characters don't die, and while Steve Trevor was human and thus not making it to the present day timeline, you'd still expect him to make it out of this movie alive.

That wasn't to be though, as instead Steve Trevor saves the day: jumping into a bomber full of chemicals, he explodes it in mid-air, killing himself but saving countless others. “I’ll save today; you save the world.”
