When Wonder Woman learned Urtzkartaga was intending to use her lover, Steve Trevor, as a vessel for evil, she knew she couldn't defeat the demonic deity alone. Because no one knows more about Urtzkartaga than the Cheetah, Diana asked her rival to join forces with her. Although the Cheetah rejected this offer, she changed her mind when Diana pointed out that vanquishing Urtzkartaga should return her to normal.

Sure enough, destroying the plant-god caused the Cheetah spirit to be released from Minerva's body, reverting her to her human form. Minerva embraced Wonder Woman while sobbing, apologising for all the evil she committed over the years. Wonder Woman reassured her that it wasn't her fault and she had been a victim in Urtzkartaga's scheme.

But, because this is a comic book, we knew it was too good to last. When Minerva saw Wonder Woman's friends were in danger, she voluntarily turned back into the Cheetah to save them. This transformation twisted Minerva's mind so much, she vowed to discard her humanity entirely. Even when Wonder Woman gave her the chance to turn back to normal, she refused.

Ironically, Minerva became Wonder Woman's greatest enemy because she was trying to save her friends.
