Wonder Woman 1984 - 10 Things You Need To Know About The Cheetah

4. There Was A Male Cheetah

Even though Urzkartaga tends to only endow his powers onto virgin women, an Argentinian tycoon called Sebastian Ballesteros (god, that's such a great name) convinced the deity he was worthy of the mantle. As a result, Urzkartaga turned him into the first male Cheetah.

Because his abilities are pretty much identical to Barbara Minerva, Ballesteros seemed like a carbon copy of the last Cheetah, save for his gender.

The problem with Ballesteros was that there was nothing particularly interesting about him. Apart from being mildly involved in Vanessa Kaptelis's transformation into the supervillain, Silver Swan, Ballesteros has had no lasting impression in the comics whatsoever.

It was clear the writers didn't know what to do with the character and so, had Ballesteros killed off only three years after his debut. Barbara Minerva slaughtered him and used his blood to amplify her own power. The character was last seen 16 years ago and it seems DC Comics have no intention of bringing Ballesteros back any time soon.
