Wonder Woman: 9 Signs It Will Redeem The DCEU

8. The Trailers Are Amazing

Wonder Woman
Warner Bros.

The braintrust at Warner Bros. knows how to assemble outstanding trailers. Even though BvS' first couple of trailers underwhelmed fans, the third sent expectations for the film through the roof, and Suicide Squad's marketing campaign was sheer genius, delivering some of the best trailers of the year. Wonder Woman's marketing has followed in this outstanding tradition and has sent fans' heads spinning.

Now, given that many believe Suicide Squad and BvS failed to live up to the expectations set by their trailers, the fact Wonder Woman managed to produce great ads doesn't necessarily mean the movie itself will also be great. However, one key difference separates Wonder Woman's trailers from her predecessors': they actually give a sense of what the story will be.

BvS and Suicide Squad's marketing only sold audiences on the premise of the movies while withholding most of the plot details. Conversely, audiences now know that Wonder Woman will be forced to leave her island kingdom to battle the German military that threatens to destroy it. This is already a more solid, less-convoluted plot than both BvS and Suicide Squad's. It's a promising sign that Warner Bros. has focused on story as well as action.
