Wonder Woman: Every Major Character Ranked From Worst To Best

3. General Antiope

The counterpoint to Queen Hippolyta is Robin Wright's General Antiope, Diana's Aunt. Whereas Hippolyta is the regal presence who doesn't want Diana to fight, Antiope is the greatest warrior among the Amazons and trains her niece in secret.

Wright is completely believable in the role as Themyscira's resident badass, immediately an imposing figure but with a heart that can be reached by Diana. Although Wright's accent is a bit dodgy, she's more than strong enough a presence and so thoroughly convincing in the part that it doesn't become distracting.

Antiope also gets the bulk of the best action sequences in the early part of the film, flipping through the air and firing off multiple arrows, and cutting down all in her path in the stunning Amazons vs Germans sequence, of which she's a key part. It's a massive shame when her time is cut short, as she's someone you could watch for an entire film.
