5. Established History and Following

wwallstar8 Wonder Woman first debuted in the world of comics in All Star Comics #8 in 1941. There's no denying the enduring qualities of a character that remains in active circulation for over seven decades. She's only been around two years less than Batman and three years less than Superman. DC Comics is no stranger to canceling titles if they aren't selling well but Wonder Woman has endured through the years and held her ground in the sales ranks. Despite her popularity or sales never quite reaching the same echelon has Batman and Superman, both of whom have multiple titles to their names, her character, whether it's in her own title or her appearances in Justice League books, is one of the most respected characters in the history of comics. From 1975-1979 the hour long television show starring Linda Carter had a total run of 59 episodes spanning two networks (ABC and CBS) and is still to this day one of the most respected superhero TV shows. Without a doubt, millions of people around the world recognize the name Wonder Woman and with superhero film popularity at an all-time high, there's a significant potential audience available.
