Wonder Woman Review: 10 Best Moments

2. Steve Makes The Ultimate Sacrifice

Wonder Woman Steve Trevor
Warner Bros.

As Diana does battle with the real Ares, Steve hijacks the bomber and flies it high into the sky in order to safely detonate it away from civilisation, but must sacrifice himself in order to do.

From Steve's declaration of love to a temporarily deafened Diana, through to Steve's final decision to pull the trigger, it's a surprisingly affecting sequence that proves how much character development matters when it comes to stakes in superhero movies.

Chris Pine gave a fantastic performance in the movie, and while it's a shame he won't be around for anymore DCEU films, he still gave fans one of the franchise's best moments to date.

And that's not to forget Gal Gadot. It was nothing short of heart-wrenching to see Diana staring at the picture of Steve on the memorial board in London post-victory.
