Wonder Woman Trailer Review: 7 Ups & 4 Downs

6. It Brings The Laughs

Wonder Woman could well be the film to sway the current downward trajectory of DC movies and this trailer almost seems to be trying to make-up for a lot of the criticisms so far. Morose and miserable have been used to describe two out of three of the movies thus far (Suicide Squad was just an unbalanced mess of misguided attempts at humour) but Wonder Woman looks to have nailed this balance without completely abandoning the serious tone already in place.

The first trailer from Comic Con showed us some amusing back and forth between Steve and Diana and here we have a similar moment at the end between Diana's fish-out-of-water Amazonian and Lucy Davis' Etta Candy. Davis is no novice when it comes to bringing the comedy and here she looks to potentially be the show-stealer.

It's a good sign that DC may have finally found the right balance and Wonder Woman could well be the one to crack the formula.
