World War Z Trailer: 10 Reasons It Will Probably Suck and 1 Reason It Might Not

3. Fan Disapproval

While I can see many actually digging the new trailer, you can bet that practically every fan of the book (and there are millions of us) breathed a collective sigh of disappointment upon first viewing. I don't know from which orifice the script was pulled, but from where I'm standing, the only way it could resemble the World War Z that I know less, is if the Zombies were replaced with angsty, romanticised vampire tweens. You'll notice that the title of this piece is careful to prefix the world "suck" with the world "probably" - in theory, I'm going to wait until I've seen the film to fully pass judgement. After all, I owe the source material that much. However, as a huge Max Brooks fan I can't help but feel a sort of sinking apprehension - here's another book I'm potentially going to have to defend as a result of how lackluster the movie is, awesome. Make no mistake, Max Brooks fans worldwide are shaking their heads disapprovingly at this new trailer and although the majority of them will go see it, I struggle to imagine that they'll have had their minds changed come the credits.
