9. Ice Road: Vengeance

How many of us ever gave 2021's Liam Neeson vehicle The Ice Road much of a second thought after streaming it on Netflix?

It's a perfectly acceptable Dad Movie albeit one that just didn't do a whole lot to stand out, and so was anyone really hankering for a second go-around?

But as is a maddeningly regular occurrence where successful streaming genre films are concerned, this sequel took way too long to get off the ground, with Ice Road: Vengeance ultimately arriving four years later.

In the age of streaming where audiences have shorter memories for middling content, this really needed to be out in two or three years, tops.

And while this sequel did actually get a theatrical release, it was so piecemeal that it quickly became clear Vertical was just dropkicking it into the ether.

For one, the trailer for Ice Road: Vengeance didn't drop until just days before it hit cinemas, and it ended up having a whopping four days of theatrical exclusivity before landing on streaming.

With all this in mind, was anyone shocked when Ice Road: Vengeance was panned as one of the more tawdry offerings in Neeson's post-Taken action film canon?
