20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck

3. Killer Whale

Killer Whale
Lionsgate

Let's be real here - how many truly good killer shark/whale movies can you name that aren't called Jaws?

The odds weren't good for the economically named Killer Whale from the jump, then, and while leads Virginia Gardner and Mel Jarnson certainly try, they're left stranded in a dire creature feature with desperately little meat on its bones.

For one, the whale itself is an unimpressive digital creation which fails to strike much fear into the scenario, but more than that the script is clearly playing for time, with its intensely padded melodramatic subplotting, leading to one chuckle-worthy plot twist.

But even as a basic people-vs-nature thrill-ride, Killer Whale fails the sniff test - outside of its solid leads, there's virtually nothing to recommend about this identikit killer animal film.

When the filmmakers can't come up with a title beyond the most basic, meat-and-potatoes description of what the film is, how can you be surprised?
