Not every movie needs to be high art, and not every comedy needs to offer something profound about the human condition alongside its laughs - but it definitely helps if there are laughs.
In its very bones, action-comedy Balls Up feels like a carry-over from the early 2000s - a thunderously unambitious buddy movie that an algorithm convinced Amazon would hit well with their at-home streaming audience.
The trailer made it clear that this Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser-starring romp was all about low-effort jokes and mid action sequences, so was anyone even remotely shocked when the end result was the least-ambitious iteration of this low-rent idea?
Much as we love Paul Walter Hauser, this is an abject waste of his considerable talents, and even Marky Mark is slumming it honestly, no matter the many junky streaming vehicles he's lent his name to in recent years.
Even though Balls Up released only back in April, does anyone still remember it?
