X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Big Storylines That Should Come Next
8. Broodfall
The X-Men comics have long since existed in the sort of sci-fi world that the films have mostly ignored. With their drab black uniforms and cultural commentary, the early Bryan Singer movies did their best to bring the characters kicking and screaming into the real world. Or as close an approximation they can get to the real world whilst still having a naked blue lady shape-shifter involved. That's started to change with all that time travel stuff in Days Of Future Past, and Fox would do well to follow that particular bliss. Some of the best X-Men stories have come out of introducing classic science fiction conceits to the core conceit of the mutant team, with the numerous Brood sagas being amongst some of the best. And the most terrifying. In some ways, bringing Broodfall to the screen might invite comparisons with Fox's Alien franchise, which is returning soon thanks to Chappie director Neill Blomkamp. Then again, that is awesome, and seeing a story where Wolverine is transformed into an evil killer monster whilst his teammates try to stop an alien invasion would be cool.
