9. It Begins With A Massive Battle Scene In Ancient Egypt
Remember how Bryan Singer posted a picture of the first page of the story treatment on Instagram? Well, that photo showed how the opening scene of the film will be a huge battle set in ancient Egypt, pitting the world's first mutant, En Sabah Nur (as played by Oscar Isaac), against his human enemies. The rumour that spawned from this post of Singer's says that this huge conflict, which leads on directly from the tease at the end of Days Of Future Past, shows off Apocalypse's powers. Since Apocalypse can control all the molecules in his body and change them to take whatever form he likes, that battle leads to him growing to giant size and unleashing an enormous degree of carnage. The confrontation will also see the immortal En Sabah Nur's original four horsemen - Death, War, Pestilence and Famine - taking part. By the end of this prologue, the four horsemen are destroyed and Nur is forced to flee, promising to take revenge upon humanity as he portentously assumes the name of Apocalypse. Because a film about Apocalypse wouldn't be complete without four of the most popular X-characters becoming the replacement Horsemen, several rumours focus on precisely which of the cast will be mind-controlled and physically altered to fill those saddles...
