X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things From The Comics That Could Feature
9. Cyclops and Phoenix
While on their honeymoon, Scott Summers and Jean Grey suddenly had their minds pulled 2000 years into a future world ruled by Apocalypse by Rachel Summers, their daughter from a different potential future. The purpose behind this was so Scott and Jean could raise Nathan Christopher Summers, the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey), who was sent into the future as a baby so he could be cured of a techno-organic virus and then grow up to become Cable and wow, that is really convoluted (welcome to the world of an X-fan). One of the controversial elements of X-Men: The Last Stand was the death of Cyclops, who was killed within a few minutes of his appearance in the movie by Phoenix, and was done so off-screen. Jean herself was also killed at the end of the film by Wolverine. But at the end of Days of Future Past, we found out that this has been retconned and both Scott and Jean are alive and well in the future. Singer has indicated a desire to bring in younger versions of Cyclops and Jean. With Apocalypse in the mix, could we possibly see the presence of some further time travel hijinks, possibly with Scott and Jean in the future?
