X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things That Will Definitely Happen

8. It'll Be Overstuffed With Fleeting Cameos

The original X-franchise was far more likely to include easter eggs for fans than actual cameos, such as when Hank McCoy appeared on a TV in a bar in X-2 but Days of Future Past was something of a shift in style for the franchise. Whereas the three films of the original trilogy presented a relatively small, self contained set of mutants working in secret to protect the world from threats, Days of Future Past included as many fan-pleasing characters as possible across two timelines. Whilst it was nice to see the likes of Toad and Havok again, it wasn't strictly necessary. It€™s also rumoured that Channing Tatum will turn up as Gambit in a bid to kick-start the character€™s new onscreen career ahead of his solo film next October, although who knows what capacity he may appear. A post-credit sting might be the least obtrusive way to get him in on the action without affecting the plot or flow of the film. In a comic book world where more is definitely more, it€™s probably safe to assume that Apocalypse won€™t be scaling back the amount of mutants making small, unnecessary appearances. Most of them will probably returnees from previous films (indeed, Havok and William Stryker are definitely confirmed so far) but with Apocalypse stirring up his brethren we can also expect to see plenty of groups of familiar looking mutants hanging around. With such a crowded screen and script, it's always going to be hard to do justice to every character. Which brings me neatly on to the next point.
