X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things That Will Definitely Happen
7. Some Big Name Characters Wont Feature Much
So far we know that the core returning cast of Xavier, Beast, Mystique and Magneto will be joined by young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Angel and Nightcrawler. Theres also apparently room for Evan Peters Quicksilver, Lucas Tills Havok (Cyclops older brother), and military xenophobe William Stryker, who was being impersonated by Mystique last time we saw him. Having characters like Jean and Scott, not to mention Nightcrawler, who was a big part of X2s success, brought back into the fold is cause for huge excitement, and Singer has promised that Jean, Scott and Storm will be "as much a part of the film as the main cast". Maybe he's right, maybe he hasn't edited the film properly yet, but there's no way that some of these characters aren't going to be used for a few scenes before vanishing. Singer has already said that Nightcrawler will be a student at the school, so we can expect him to turn up briefly before leaving the film with a BAMF. Elsewhere, Psylocke is probably going to be more akin to a simple henchmen for Apocalypse whilst Jubilee, complete with yellow coat, ticks a big old nostalgia box for fans of the X-Mens technicolour 90s cartoon. Admit it, youre singing the theme tune to yourself now, arent you? The fact is that the core team have to be the focus. This trilogy is their story and Singer always prizes character and story over all. He may throw in a lot of cameos, as I've mentioned, but they're never allowed to really detract from the main story, hence the future X-Men having limited dialogue or character arcs last time round.
