X-Men: Apocalypse - 12 Big Questions That Still Need Answering

3. How Will The Two Main Casts Unite?

Twentieth Century FoxTwentieth Century FoxFrom what we know officially, it€™ll contain some returning members from the original trilogy, as Simon Kinberg has stated. As well as the remnants of the First Class crew, newer mutants who debuted in Days Of Future Past, and teenage versions of the original cast. Hang on, how€™s all this going to play out? If we€™re to see the original ensemble as their much younger selves, when the first core of X-Men were brought together by Professor X; then the overall story (like most of the film adaptations) will have to become a fusion of Age of Apocalypse and another X-Men comic title. Story logistics aside, the process for Singer of juggling to keep the story momentum going, while including characters from two epochs was a tough one. Mainly because of the fondness for all of his Xers. Awww. Still, there were undoubted moments of carnage in the editing room on DoFp, as two of the original team suffered running time cuts. Storm appeared the longest of the two, with a reasonable wedge of time devoted in the €œfuture€ section of the film. It was Rogue who was dealt the short straw (isn€™t she always? Poor lass) and had her role sliced down to a wave! Either we€™re looking at a super-long running time, or someone€™s getting the axe.
