X-Men: Apocalypse - 12 Big Questions That Still Need Answering
2. Who Should Take The Lead?
Columbia Pictures/Marvel ComicsHes made no bones about it - Hugh Jackman is happy to take a backseat. After leading five of the series seven films, its not a surprise really. And itll finally give another go-getting member of the X-Men the chance to take centre stage. Especially as it was originally Kitty Pryde who was to go back in time in DoFP, but that duty was given to Wolvie due to his pulling power. Itd be good to see Iceman take the reins, as hes always been on the periphery of the action. If the flicks are to combine two casts well likely see teen Jean Grey, Storm or Cyclops coming to grips with their mutancy. What better way for them to explore their abilities than by leading a team of mutants to overthrow the worlds biggest threat? Any of those three, whod likely be re-cast by younger actors (unless Famke Janssen, Halle Berry and James Marsden are CGId to appear fresh as daisies) would bring a youthful verve to proceedings. With young Xavier on hand in an advisory capacity of course. Gambit could be on track to take the reins, with Channing Tatum on the verge of signing on for a role. In the Age Of Apocalypse storyline, the crafty card-throwing mutant first joins Apocalypses crew before defecting to the X-Mens camp. Then again, the producers could shun the idea of a lead and revert to the First Class ensemble style without a leading character.
