4. It'll Be About The Origins Of Singer's Original X-Men Crew
Singer had said previously that Apocalypse would focus - as the past two X-movies have - on Xavier, Magneto, Beast and Mystique, but it now seems as though one of the main concerns of the film will be setting up for potential future sequels. And one key way it'll do this will be by rallying together the central crew of Singer's original 2000 X-Men movie, plus some additions. Now the timeline has been altered, Nightcrawler and Angel could stand to actually become part of this crew from an earlier point than in the previous X-Men trilogy. Another major newbie, too, looks set to become a member (more on her later), rounding off a strong, fresh team of six. From a purely businesslike perspective, it makes a lot of sense to pass the baton onto Turner, Sheridan and co. with this film. They're all young, good-looking people - the oldest of the lot is Shipp at 23 - so Fox can at least hope to get a good few years of mileage out of them.
Lover of film, writer of words, pretentious beyond belief. Thinks Scorsese and Kubrick are the kings of cinema, but PT Anderson and David Fincher are the dashing young princes. Follow Brogan on twitter if you can take shameless self-promotion: @BroganMorris1
