X-Men: Apocalypse - 14 Things You Need To Know

12. Rose Byrne's First Class Character Will Return

Amongst the many, many characters returning to the franchise in X-Men: Apocalypse, there's one that's getting very little fanfare: Rose Byrne's First Class agent, Moira MacTaggert. It seems an odd choice to bring back a character most people have probably forgotten was even in First Class, but the (figurative) resurrection of MacTaggert for Apocalypse raises some intriguing possibilities. For one, some 20 years will have passed since First Class, meaning MacTaggert will be older, wiser and perhaps working in a different capacity to before. Whereas First Class had MacTaggert as a CIA officer and liaison to Charles Xavier's mutants, in the comics - and perhaps in Apocalypse - she's much more directly involved. In the comics, MacTaggert was more typically a geneticist and mutant expert, who aided young mutants like Jean Grey and actually helped with the founding of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Considering Apocalypse will focus on the origins of Xavier's original X-Men crew, it's likely this is where MacTaggert will fit in.
