One of the most pleasantly surprising elements of Days Of Future Past was the Pentagon breakout of Magneto. And the joy of it all was down to Evan Peters's Quicksilver, a character that came out of nowhere and stole the show with his hyperactive personality and rapid-speed abilities. Happily, Peters will be reprising the role for Apocalypse, with Quicksilver ten years older and hopefully no less errant. No word yet on whether his sister Scarlet Witch, teasingly glimpsed towards the end of Days Of Future Past, will feature, though... It's difficult as yet to figure out exactly how Quicksilver will fit into the latest X-Men film, what with the already packed cast from the last movie basically doubling for Apocalypse. But then Quicksilver was never really that essential to Days Of Future Past either, and look how elegantly Singer managed to shoehorn him into that one.
Lover of film, writer of words, pretentious beyond belief. Thinks Scorsese and Kubrick are the kings of cinema, but PT Anderson and David Fincher are the dashing young princes. Follow Brogan on twitter if you can take shameless self-promotion: @BroganMorris1
