Following Taylor Kitsch's flat portrayal of fan-favourite Gambit in Origins, the X-Men producers are rebooting the character, and have turned to someone who seems like a much better fit: Channing Tatum. He'll make his bow as the ragin' Cajun in 2016, but there's still a question of whether or not Tatum will make an appearance in Apocalypse - chances are he'll at least cameo. For sure, there is a standalone Gambit movie coming next year (and it's going to be a good one, if you believe Tatum's claim that he and writer Josh Zetumer will be "changing some of the tropes" of the superhero movie); that'll arrive on October 7th, five months after Apocalypse. But seeing as all superhero franchises these days at least tease an appearance of a new character before they get their own movie, rather than just introduce them from nowhere straight out, you can bet Tatum will show up in Apocalypse prior to Gambit's sole adventure later in 2016.
