X-Men: Apocalypse - 8 Major New Story Details Revealed

5. A New Take On Familiar Faces

With X-Men: Apocalypse looking to set up a new trilogy focusing on the younger versions of mutants we all remember the adult versions of from the previous movies, it's an exciting time to be an X-Men fan. Still, rather than just copying and pasting what we've seen before, it sounds like Bryan Singer will be adding some interesting new wrinkles to the personalities of pretty much all of these characters. Natural leader Scott Summers for example will start off as someone who "hates schools and hates authority" and is "kind of a messed up kid who€™s struggling to find his place in the world." Talking of Cyclops, this movie is finally going to address the fact that he and Havok are brothers, with Singer promising that their relationship will be explored in depth. Angel meanwhile has been confirmed as appearing in both his Angel and Archangel forms, while he and Nightcrawler (who is still committed to his faith, but now more like his swashbuckling comic book counterpart) will clash with him in a fight taking place before Angel becomes a Horseman. Storm is also going to closely resemble the version from the source material as we'll first meet her in Cairo picking pockets. Apocalypse serves as a father figure of sorts to her, while Alexandra Shipp will be using a Kenyan accent which hopefully won't sound as bad as whatever Halle Berry attempted way back in 2000. Finally, there's Jubille. A glorified background extra in the past, Lana Candor take isn't set to have a major role, but reportedly serves as the comic relief of the friendship group which is made of up her, Scott, Jean, and Nightcrawler. So, all in all, it sounds like we're getting a fresh take on all of these X-Men members!
