X-Men: Apocalypse - 8 Major New Story Details Revealed

6. Mutants Are No Longer In Hiding

The events of X-Men: Apocalypse changed how the world perceives mutants in this world, and rather than being in hiding or hated and feared, they're now a widely accepted part of society. However, there are still some prejudices which threaten their future, and that's why Mystique is travelling the globe as a freedom fighter of sorts in order to ensure that another Sentinels type scenario doesn't become a reality. One potential threat might just be the returning William Stryker. In the decade since the events which unfolded on the lawn of the White House, he's apparently been developing a solution to the "mutant problem", and X-Men: Apocalypse is actually the movie which sets him on the path to becoming the villain we saw in X2: X-Men United. Unfortunately, no explanation was given in regards to the ramifications of Mystique impersonating him and making off with an unconscious Wolverine, with that character's possible role here something no one would discuss. Charles Xavier and Hank McCoy meanwhile are now running Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters with hundreds of students filling the halls, while Magneto has been taken off the board for a second time since making his intentions to form a Brotherhood clear. Jailed shortly after the events of X-Men: First Class, he still hasn't assembled that villainous team as he's now living a domestic life in Europe following Days of Future Past!
