X-Men: Apocalypse: Everything We Already Know

7. Quicksilver's Daddy Issues Play A Big Part

Few are going to dispute that Quicksilver (Evan Peters) was the MVP Of Days of Future Past, and Apocalypse promises to give him an expanded role after his disappearing act midway through DOFP left many scratching their heads. The film tentatively suggested that, as in the comics, Magneto was his father, and this will reportedly be a big plot point for Apocalypse. Peters himself said, "The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness. He tries to stop him from destroying the world." Considering the possibility that Magneto loses his new family at the start of the film, perhaps the revelation that Quicksilver is his son could be what snaps him out of Apocalypse's persuasion, and has the potential to make this the most emotionally-charged X-Men movie. Peters and Fassbender are both terrific actors, so there's little doubt they'll knock it out of the park, all the more so as Singer recently said he was "moved to tears" by one devastating scene performed by Fassbender.
