X-Men: Apocalypse - Everything You Need To Know

3. Bryan Singer's On Board Again

Regardless of whether Jackman will be appearing €“ Wolverine's currently dead in the comic books and, really, the films have positioned him as the star for long enough €“ what's most reassuring about the production of X-Men: Apocalypse so far is that Bryan Singer is directing again, having essentially saved the series with Days Of Future Past. Singer dropped out of directing the third film, The Last Stand, so he could defect to Warner Bros and helm the underwhelming Superman Returns. Instead of hiring somebody who could continue the sensibility he had created in the first two X-Men films, Fox went with Rush Hour director Brett Ratner. The results were pretty terrible. The franchise suffered a considerably nose dive in quality between that and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with the course corrected somewhat by Matthew Vaughan's First Class. Still, things weren't quite right until Days Of Future Past and the return of Singer. Hopefully Apocalypse will be like a lap of victory for him. He deserves it, really.
