X-Men: Apocalypse - Predicting Who Lives And Who Dies
1. Professor X
Why He Could Live: Hes Professor X! We almost exclusively think of him as the older mentor to the X-Men so having him die as a younger man doesnt make a ton of sense. Hes too important to the legacy of these characters that killing him off just wouldnt feel right. He's just about to undertake the role he had in the original X-Men and now would seem like a strange time to dispatch him.
He also seems like exactly the type of character that could pop in for a supporting role or a cameo in future X-Men films. It may not even necessarily be James McAvoy playing him but his presence ought to be felt in the formative years of the next team of X-Men.
Most importantly, we saw him greet Logan in the future setting of Days Of Future Past, almost assuring viewers that he will live through this new timeline.
Why He Could Die: Its not like it hasnt happened before. His massive comic book status didnt save him during The Last Stand and if this really is the end for these characters, death could be a fitting way to sell that point home to the viewers.
Were also discussing Xaviergoing up against the ultimate foe and doing so will not come without sacrifice. Who better to offer up his life in stopping Apocalypse than the X-Men's leader, Charles Xavier? Considering we all expect him to survive, it would certainly be a massive shocker.
Prediction: Comes close, but lives to see the New X-Men in action.
