The world is melting but Magneto stands unscathed. The "everything they've built will fall" line is clearly a reference to Apocalypse's human purge: he's not actually determined to kill off mutants (because they're the superior breed), just humanity. So you'd have to suspect that his powers are capable of avoiding mutant devastation.

It still feels like Magneto isn't exactly a willing volunteer to Apocalypse's programme. And given that this appears to be the same sequence that his "wife" was in, there's probably a good chance her death is what warps his mind to evil.
