X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer - 8 Major Revelations From Bryan Singer's Q&A
5. Jubilee Was Nearly Cut From The Movie
It turns out that had things panned out slightly differently behind the scenes, we'd have likely been getting a "Jubilee Cut" of X-Men: Apocalypse a couple of years from now similar to the recently released "Rogue Cut" of X-Men: Days of Future Past. That's because Singer has confirmed that one version of the movie didn't include Lana Condor, with the director going on to point out that her role is a minor one anyway. If she could be that easily cut out, that's pretty obvious, but don't worry Jubilee fans; Singer went on to add that he "very specifically put Jubilee in" and that "she is a part of the growing new universe." It really doesn't sound as if we should expect much more than a glorified cameo then, and like so many X-Men characters before her (including previous iterations of her character), Jubilee looks set to be a glorified mutant extra. On the plus side, one female character who will be getting the spotlight is - predictably - Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique. Apocalypse's return is what brings her back to the X-Men, and further comments from the director point to the focus shifting to her relationship with Hank McCoy and us finally getting some sort of resolution to that plot thread after Days of Future Past dealt with her ties to Charles and Erik.
