X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer - 8 Major Revelations From Bryan Singer's Q&A
3. Apocalypse's Powers
One of the trailer's most interesting and surprising moments comes when Charles Xavier (once again walking) clashes with Apocalypse, but is suddenly pinned down as the ancient mutant vastly multiplies in size. That's not all that different to his comic book counterpart, as that version of the villain is able to alter the molecules within his body to take on any form he wants, turning him into an even more deadly threat. However, it seems like Singer is taking things in a slightly different direction, and fan theories about this fight taking place on some sort of psychic plane appear to have been confirmed. "Its part of the mythology of Apocalypses size, but I couldnt go full Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man where hes just Giant Apocalypse, swatting at things. I did something a little interesting in how I addressed the size thing." That's a clever way of bringing one of the villain's more outlandish powers to the big screen without it coming across as too silly, and even if this scene is all we get of that, it should be enough to keep fans happy.
