We see a decent amount of James McAvoy's Charles Xavier, even getting one shot of him fully bald, but crucially we only really see him in the confines of CIA offices, the school and Cerebro, not involved in any major conflicts as he has been before. It looks like Apocalypse will push his element of surprise to get the jump on Charles, leaving him incapacitated. We see Charles overcome by darkness in Cerebro, lifted limp in his chair by Magneto and failing to best Apocalypse on the mental battlefield and very little else. After all, it's Mystique who spurs her fellow mutants into action and leads the X-Men into the fight with Apocalypse and his four horsemen. There's nothing to suggest that Charles will even be conscious between his traumatic overpowering and the shot of him bald nearer the film's end so don't expect to see too much mind reading and people freezing this time around.
