X-Men: Dark Phoenix - 21 Easter Eggs & References Explained
4. Selene (And The Acolytes)
As already said, when Kota Eberhardt was cast, it was assumed that she was playing a character called Luna, though there was some suggestion that it was a codename. She's actually playing Selene, who is also from the comics.
In all honesty, this version of Selene is mostly just named after the comics character rather than being a pure adaptation of her. In the comics, Selene is classed as secretly being the very first human mutant (or the oldest living one). She's a psychic vampire who drains others of life to extend her own. In the film, Selene is psychic, but there's no hint of her draining life.
She's also clearly one of the film's version of Magneto's followers the Acolytes, who live by Magneto's manifesto on mutant superiority over humans.
