Chastain's character is revealed at one point to be called Vuk, who exists in the comics too and who was the D'Bari's appointed hero under his alias Starhammer.

As with the other D'Bari, he was strong and long-lived and lived on Earth in a human disguise, which Chastain's Vuk also borrowed from the comics version when she arrives on Earth.

In the comics, he has a Ray Gun that turns people to stone, which unfortunately is replaced in Dark Phoenix by the power to collapse victims' chests, weirdly.
