X-Men: Dark Phoenix - 40 WTF Moments

4. This Film Really HATES Helicopters

Remember Suicide Squad? No, of course you don't, because nobody wants to relive that sort of pain more than a couple of times at most. Still, what you might remember about the film is that it really disliked helicopters. As soon as one was on screen for more than a few moments, David Ayer dreamed up some catastrophic way to make it crash, bringing the chopper death count up to higher than the main character death count.

Clearly, Simon Kinberg watched that film and agreed with the anti-helicopter agenda, because the same thing happens here. If there's a helicopter in frame, something bad is happening to it, has happened to it or is about to happen to it.

3. The Phoebe Run

The D'Bari aliens are not really much of anything, thanks to the way they've been presented in this movie. They're basically just henchmen mooks who are brought in as cannon fodder for the finale and it's a little hard to really care about them when their motivation is so basic.

They are pretty badass in terms of how easily they just shrug off bullets - and that John Wick-style scene where Magneto shoots Vuk with everything he's got is great - but it's all made deeply problematic by the fact that they all run like Phoebe in Friends.
