X-Men: Dark Phoenix - 40 WTF Moments
30. "Marry Me"
Because this version of the X-Men are all rockstars, when they return from space having saved the astronauts, they're met by a crowd of fans cheering, brandishing action figures and holding signs as if they're at a wrestling show. Fair play, in particular, to the literal child holding up a sign asking one of the X-Men to marry him.
He's about 12 at most. Aim for the stars, kid.
29. The X-Women Line
There are some severe problems with the script, which is a major shame, but it's basically proof that it doesn't matter how much you love the characters you're writing, if you can't write good dialogue, you'll mess them up.
The worst example comes when Mystique challenges Charles Xavier on the use of the name "X-Men" when all of the female superheroes keep saving people. "Maybe you ought to rename us X-Women" she says and everyone cheers. Or at least, everyone cheers until they realise that she's talking nonsense.
The mission they were just on did see Jean stop the Phoenix Force from killing the X-Men, but Mystique had no idea this was the case. As far as she knows, Nightcrawler and Quicksilver saved the astronauts, then Jean and Nightcrawler TRIED to save the commander, but Jean ended up being "killed" and then Nightcrawler saved her. So really, Raven should have been asking why the X-Men weren't called The Nightcrawler-Men.
