X-Men: Dark Phoenix Trailer - 10 Things You Might've Missed

10. "This Is The End"...For Fox

As is the overdone trend for movie trailers these days, Dark Phoenix features a slow, depressing cover of a hit pop song, in this case The Doors' already-grim classic "The End."

Though at first glance the song's use seems to refer to the apocalyptic threat posed by Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), it can also be interpreted as referencing that Dark Phoenix is set to be the final entry into the current mainline X-Men continuity.

Somewhat hilariously, the ominous lyrics, "This is the end, beautiful friend", are first heard as the Fox and Marvel logos appear on the screen, accidentally nodding to Fox's impending merger with Disney and the upcoming re-purposing of the X-Men brand within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If the people editing the trailer did this intentionally and managed to slip it past Fox execs, then bravo.
