X-Men: Dark Phoenix Trailer 2 Reactions - 4 Ups And 7 Downs

1. The Civil War Vibe

As Kinberg told EW in the interview that is designed as a companion to this trailer release (thank him for the Mystique confirmation, because he says it in there), Dark Phoenix is going to pit the X-Men against each other.

Essentially, we're going to get a replay of Civil War, only with the warring factions deciding on how best to deal with Jean as this story's stand-in for The Winter Soldier. In both cases, characters will be drawn to their sides of the argument based on emotion - Cyclops to Jean out of love, Beast against her in mourning for what she does to Mystique. 

it might be a little cynical of them to be trying to remind us of a film that came out so recently, but Civil War was absolutely brilliant and there's nothing like the thrill of watching heroes fighting each other is something that has endured through both comics AND comic book movies. We love it for a reason and it at least adds a new element to this story.
