X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 10 Questions The Movie Must Answer

3. Is The Cure Permanent?

Kitty And Jimmy Spoiler alert! Well, sort of. If you've seen The Wolverine, and you stayed for the post-credits scene (as most people do at a Marvel movie these days), you'll know two things: not only is Professor X very much alive, but also that Magneto has his powers back following X3. We don't get much by way of an explanation, leaving many (including Logan himself) wondering just how any of that is possible. It was strongly hinted at the end of X3 that the cure was, in fact, not permanent, but we never really see whether or not this is true in every mutant's case, or if it only applies to mutants as powerful as Magneto. The real question is how? After all, a temporary cure isn't really much of a cure at all. My theory is that the cure doesn't fully work because it was derived from a mutant to begin with, but that's neither here nor there. As of yet, nothing has been mentioned about whether this particular question will be answered or addressed, but we've still got plenty of time until the release, and it the cure (which sparked the 'war' at the end of X3, which - in turn - seems to have sparked the creation of the Sentinels in the first place) is too big of a plot point to leave totally unattended.
