X-Men Days Of Future Past: 20 Big Questions That Still Need Answers

19.What Happened to Angel, Azazel And Emma Frost?

At the end of First Class Magneto began forming the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) had left Xavier's side to join Magneto. Azazel (Jason Flemyng), Angel (Zoe Kravitz) and Emma Frost (January Jones) €“ who had been part of Sebastian Shaw's (Kevin Bacon) Hellfire Club €“ also joined Magneto. Angel, Azazel and Emma are not characters in Days of Future Past and the film may not address their whereabouts or actions. We do know Magneto is in prison for the assassination of President JFK. Did Magneto's imprisonment break the Brotherhood apart or did they part ways before this? While these characters don't need to be present, mentioning them would make the franchise feel more textured instead of each film being self-contained and not caring what happened to its characters.

18. What Role Will Richard Nixon Play?

President Richard Nixon will be a character in the 1970s-set scenes and will face off against Peter Dinklage's Bolivar Trask €“ the scientist who created the Sentinels. Could his assassination result in the dystopian future? Since Robert Kelly can't be the one assassinated (he appeared in X-Men 1 played by Bruce Davidson) Nixon is a likely substitute. Him and Trask are antagonists so it'd be a nice bit of irony if Nixon's assassination allows Trask to unleash the Sentinels on mutant-kind. The X-Men franchise has always been politically allegorical, and the relationship between Trask and Nixon will likely be the catalyst for exploring political ideas and themes, as well as creating social commentary. Mystique will likely be the assassin but why does Mystique want to kill Nixon? Nixon would have to be against mutants in some way for Mystique's actions to make narrative sense.
