2. Cyclops And Phoenix Aren't Dead Anymore

It isn't just Rogue, Beast and the other future mutants that we see in their alternate future who are brought back to life by the epilogue of the film. Since the timeline has been reset to remove the events of The Last Stand (as well as some of the elements associated with William Stryker, who seemingly is no longer involved in Wolverine's skeletal origin, since Mystique in his his place at the end), there's a reprieve for both James Marsden's Cyclops and Famke Janssen's Jean Grey (who also appears earlier in a flashback). The cameos were incredibly tightly guarded, to the extent that Singer outright lied about their involvement to keep it a secret. The pair appear in Xavier's office, with the suggestion that they are still a couple, since Cyclops reacts badly to Wolverine's over-zealous greeting of Grey.
