X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 5 New Mutants You Need To Know

4. Quicksilver

First Appearance: X-Men #4 (March 1964) Played By: Evan Peters Quicksilver has a very long history spanning across X-Factor, The Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants, and The Avengers. Born Pietro Maximoff, Quicksilver is the twin brother of fellow mutant The Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff); both of whom are the children of Magneto, although the twins never realised who their father was during their tenure with The Brotherhood. Blessed with the ability to move at supersonic speeds, Quicksilver is cursed with living in a world that, to him, moves in slow motion, which makes him extremely impatient and a bit of a hothead - an attitude that is also assisted with a a generous helping of arrogance. Although he's known for courageous exploits as an X-Man and as an Avenger, Quicksilver has a tendency to slide back into nasty habits, as evidenced when he stole Terrigen Crystals from The Inhumans in order to enhance his superhuman abilities or when he placed blame on an unnamed Skrull following The Secret Invasion in order to exonerate himself from past criminal charges.
Mutation: Quicksilver was born with the ability to move and think at the speed of sound. Exposure to Isotope E greatly enhanced his mutation, making it possible to travel up to Mach 10 speeds, allowing him to run up walls, travel across large bodies of water, create cyclone-like winds, resist high-impact and friction, and also be able to function with reduced Oxygen.
