9. New Mutants

Perhaps one of the biggest hurdles facing the movie was the struggle to cram over 20 notable comic book characters into one 130-minute movie. It's fair to say that a lot of characters (such as Storm and Rogue in particular) get a short shrift, but that's arguably to make a little more wiggle room for the new mutant characters, like Blink, Bishop, Sunspot and Warpath. Though each mutant gets their moment to shine, easily the breakout new character is Fan Bingbing's Blink, who is capable of creating portals to teleport through, in much the same way as the Valve video game Portal. These portals are employed heavily in the future timeline scenes, allowing Blink and the other mutants to evade the Sentinels, as well as launch unexpected attacks on them. With brilliant visual effects and a mind-bending approach to physics, Blink may very well become a fan favourite character in the next X-Men film, and with her signed for a total of five movies, the future's looking very bright for the character indeed.
