X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 5 Reasons You Should Be Excited

5. The Return of Past Cast Members

Ever since the release of X-Men: The Last Stand and the introductions of new characters in X-Men: First Class, many people were wondering if that was the end for most of the actors that were part of the original X-Men trilogy. Since Wolverine was getting his solo films, it was obvious that Hugh Jackman was going to stick around for a good while, but other characters such as Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey were in a "limbo" of sorts, many were wondering if these characters will make any other appearances. However, ever since X-Men: Days of Future Past has a plot that involves time travel, this allowed characters from our "present" and the past to intermingle with characters of the First Class timeline. Soon after he was appointed as director Bryan Singer announced that the characters: Ice Man, Rogue, Kitty and later revealed Storm are returning to the film franchise as well as the actors who portrayed them. Even though the director has not confirmed any other characters like Cyclops or Jean Grey, the film is still in it is still in the early stages and we just have to wait to see if any others are going to join the very large cast. The true importance for the return of some old cast members (at least why I think it is important) is to let jaded fans of the franchise know that the original trilogy or at least the first two X-Men films still has significance to the crew and the people at Fox. Also the interactions between characters from the past and those from the future, will allow many characters to evolve in different ways making some second tier characters like Colossus and maybe someone like Banshee to truly shine amongst with other characters like Wolverine and Fassbender's Magneto.

Love to read comics and fantasy novels. Enjoy watching shows like Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. I really want to do something in the fantasy genre and create stories of my own.
