3. The Proper Debut of Sentinels
One of the most iconic robots in comic book history are the mutant hunting Sentinels and they are finally going to a proper big screen debut. Even though the audience first saw them a little of these killing machines back in The Last Stand, it was a hologram and we only saw its clawed off head. Now some people complained about how Fox and the X-Men crew have finally put the Sentinels in a X-Men film after almost ten years when there were previous opportunities. If that were to have happened, it would have sucked big time. One reason is that visual effects were not at the same level as they were ten to thirteen years ago and they would of looked cheesy like those "zombies" from The World War Z trailer and the other reason is that X-Men: Days of Future Past deals with an apocalyptic future where the existence of Sentinels would actually make sense since there existence is one of the major reasons why the time travel was a necessary measure to ensure the security of mutant-human relations. We will actually get to see Wolverine climb up the arms of one these death machines and slice its head off like in the comics and cartoon shows of our childhood. This also allows a new twist in terms of villainy for this new X film, since in the previous installments, we have mostly seen Magneto trying to make his vision of mutant supremacy a reality and in X2 we had William Stryker, mutant hating extremist trying to disband and kill the X-Men. However, the Sentinels in X-Men: Days of Future Past will most likely represent the U.S. Government and likely other countries as well in trying to get rid of mutants off the face of the Earth. Essentially, this film will be, in a sense, the X-Men vs. The Government or "The Man" as some like to say.
