X-Men Film Universe's Future: 10 Things You Need To Know

2. The Four Horsemen

Over the years, Apocalypse has enlisted any number of mutants as his Four Horsemen. Interestingly, X-Men: Apocalypse is borrowing both from the comic books and providing a different take on them, with Magneto, Psylocke, Archangel, and Storm all set to serve the ancient God-like mutant in the 2016 movie. So, how does he go about recruiting them? Well, here's where things get a little spoilery! Apocalypse will apparently be the one to find Storm as a starving orphan on the streets of Cairo, a radical departure from the comic books which saw Charles Xavier rescue the youngster. Angel meanwhile, sounds a lot less clean cut than his comic book counterpart; he€™ll be a member of a Berlin fight club when the villain decides to bring him on board. As for Psylocke, she has apparently been working in Europe behind the Iron Curtain for the mutant-broker Caliban. Magneto however is perhaps the most interesting addition, especially as audiences are more used to seeing him as a leader than follower. Well, in a surprising turn of events, the former Brotherhood leader will have apparently settled down and found happiness when X-Men: Apocalypse kicks off, only to lose that in tragic circumstances, hence why he's more than happy to help wipe out every human on Earth. This is a unique group, that's for sure, and as fans are hoping to see at least three of the four ultimately end up as part of the X-Men, it's going to be interesting to see how Singer handles them in the movie. There have been rumours that Apocalypse has some sort of mental control over them, and if that's true, it will make their redemption stories a lot easier for moviegoers to digest.
